The Richards | Tampa Family Session

When my good friend Lauren first announced she was pregnant with her baby, Colin - I was absolutely elated for her. I envisioned all of the magical "first time parent" moments... and, of course, all the magical photo opportunities! I was practically doing cartwheels just thinking about all the "Richards Family" sessions that would eventually take place... (Mental cartwheels, people. I have scoliosis. I CAN'T ACTUALLY DO CARTWHEELS.)

Lauren and Derek were some of the first close friends we made living down here in Florida. Although we technically didn't know them long before they had Colin... we knew them long enough to be completely immersed in their joy when they announced their pregnancy. I can still remember when Lauren shared the news. #allthefeels

Lauren and Derek happen to be my first close friends to embark on the journey of parenthood (right before my eyes)... and when you don't have children of your own - you remember this experience - the "first pregnant friend" experience. Everything is so interesting and foreign and you feel like you kind of know what's going on but in reality, the experience really just illuminates everything you still don't know about life. I think parenthood is like that.

Being on their own (as both of their families live across the country), I'm amazed at how well Lauren and Derek do parenthood, and I continue to be so inspired by the love they have for each other and their precious baby boy.
