As I approach my one-year anniversary and watch as fresh engagements continue to blow up my Facebook feed, I vividly remember the days I spent planning my own wedding. I loved having an excuse to be creative... to put together my own personal "dream team" of vendors to achieve a wedding that, in my mind, was as close to perfect as possible! My husband, Zach, helped with budgeting decisions... but the aesthetic was all me. (Sorry, Zach. You knew the truth would come out eventually.)
Everyone who knows me (well) knows that I'm constantly looking for my next photographic opportunity, so when I visited my old stomping grounds back in March, I had made big plans for a bridal-style shoot. It was going to be incredibly minimalistic with an emphasis on the dress(es), florals, and landscape. After spending a "small" fortune on my own wedding, I've been infatuated with the idea that you can have amazing images without all the additional bells and whistles (and costs). The weather was going to cooperate, the dresses were going to fit, and we were going to have all afternoon to shoot in the best light...
